Maria A. Curran, M.S., has lived in Richmond and worked for the VCU Health System for almost 18 years. Originally a Floridian, Maria graduated from Rollins College in Winter Park, FL and moved to Virginia for her graduate degree at the University of Virginia. In addition to the Board of the Center for Human-Animal Interaction, Maria is on the Board of the Hospital Hospitality House. Her other community volunteer work has been with the Junior League of Richmond, the Friends Association for Children, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Central Virginia. Maria hopes that her eighteen month old Golden Retriever Lexi will soon grow up to be a great therapy dog and member of the Dogs on Call team.
