Annual Volunteer Meeting 2015

June 23, 2015

The Center for Human-Animal Interaction hosted a meeting attended by volunteers  and Dogs On Call teams. Volunteer Services at VCU Medical Center representatives also attended. The Annual Volunteer Meeting provides an opportunity for Center staff to appreciate the contributions of volunteers to the mission of improved health and well-being through human-animal interaction. Topics discussed included news, recognitions for Dogs On Call Leads Teams, stress in animals, and a special talk on compassion fatigue. Volunteers were also presented with certificates of appreciation by Center Director Dr. Sandra Barker.

Volunteers enjoy meals provided by Joes Inn as part of the appreciation dinner.

Therapy dog 'Moose' sits in on the meeting after completing an afternoon of visitation with patients at VCU Medical Center.
