The fourth year medical student elective with The Center continues to be popular. M-4 students consistently fill the position. We now offer an elective for medical students participating in the Psychiatry Honors Program.

Nursing students have also been active with the Center, joining us to complete service learning requirements. Medical and nursing students make valuable contributions to the Center.

Center affiliated faculty and volunteers have provided numerous presentations to VCU academic and medical campus classes and community organizations about AAT, health benefits of interacting with companion animals, and pet loss issues.

Center research was presented at the International Association of Human-Animal Interaction Organizations in Glasgow, Scotland, and International Society for Anthrozoology in Barcelona, Spain.
